JUNE 1 -12,2015
June 1,2015 is the first official day of the Dublin Housing Authority Summer program. This day consisted of kids getting acquainted with the instructor and fellow students. Reviewed the rules regulations about the program and how discipline will take place.
June 2,2015 Tuesday morning started the kids off with exercises that we will perform everyday when we first get started. Learned the kids how to stretch and get their bodies loose. Worked on these exercises for about 45 minutes get loose.Then started teaching different basketball handling drills such as dribbling and passing the ball.
June 3,2015 Wednesday morning reported at 8:30AM completed stretching exercises and then proceeded to work on more ball handling drills.After about an hour of ball handling drills then moved to some layup drills. Finished the day with a relay race dribbling the ball from base line to base line.
June 4,2015 Thursday morning started the day off with exercising,then started some relay races by age groups. Separated the kids according to their age group and their skills. The competition was very strong and intense.
June 5,2015 Friday morning separated the kids into age groups and started a quiz on the past few days of basketball skills and technique. Reviewed all things covered the first four days.Then went over the rules for the up coming basketball camp Lions Den sponsored by professional players from France.
June 8,2015 Monday morning started our stretches and exercising drills for about 30minutes. After exercising went right into basketball techniques for shooting. Spent the rest of the setting teaching shooting skills and defensive skills. Only four days away from the big Lions Den basketball camp.
June 9,2015 Tuesday the excitement rising and the smack talking started. Completed exercises and went right into a two on two drill of basketball shooting. The kids competed the whole period trying to get ready for the big day.
June 10,2015 Wednesday started exercising at 8:30 AM and after completion separated kids by age level because this is how the campers will run their camp. Kids played basketball and I had them concentrating on their skills they have learned.
June 11,2015 Thursday morning separated the kids into four teams for Fridays' camp. Let the teams work some skills together.
June 12,2015 Friday morning and the excitement was in the building.Teams talking smack at each other. Completed the exercises and waiting on the professional players from France to enter the gym lead by home town favorite Ben Smith. All the players wearing t-shirts saying I survived The Lions Den camp. The players worked with all the different teams for a couple of hours and then they started the games. The fire was inside the gym and you couldn't hear yourself talk. The final game came down between the high school kids and these guys really played hard trying to impress the pro players.

June 15,2015 the first day after the Lions Den basketball camp I got the kids started on the sport of football. Started the exercises we do to get the body loose. Discussed the skills we will learn the next couple of weeks which will be football and how the game is played.
June 16,2015 Tuesday started working on three and four point stands that will be very important when learning the techniques of football. Preparing the kids for the Erick Walden football camp.
June 17,2015 Wednesday completed exercising and started showing them the proper three and four point stands. Worked on the kids running from these stands.
June 18,2015 Thursday completed exercises and did a short review on the two stands we did on Wednesday.
June 19,2015 Friday split kids up into groups according to their position they desire to play. Running backs learned how to take a hand off and quarterbacks threw passes to receivers
June 22,2015 Monday morning started right where we left off on Friday kids playing their desired positions.
June 23,2015 Tuesday separated kids into two teams and reviewed some plays for both teams.
June 24,2015 Wednesday completed exercises and continued working on some plays from both teams.
June 25,2015 Thursday did some reviewing of all positions and continued to talk about the big day.
June 26,2015 Friday the day finally came and the fire was inside the room because the kids were waiting on the arrival of the pro football players from the Indianapolis Colts along with home town hero Erik Walden. They finally arrived about 9:00 AM and the kids were ready to get on with the action on the field to show these pros what they know.

June 29,2015 Monday after the Erik Walden football camp we started the morning talking about the results of the camp. Started discussing the next sport we will work with. Spent the whole period talking about this sport called badminton. Explained the techniques of badminton and how its played.
June 30,2015 Tuesday started the morning off exercising and preparing for the training of the game badminton. This game is played similar to tennis but played with a birdie instead of a tennis ball.
July 1,2015 Wednesday did the regular exercises to loosen up and split the kids up into groups of four to practice the technique of hitting the birdie.
July 2,2015 Thursday closed for the holiday .
July 3,2015 Friday closed for the holiday.
July 6,2015 Monday arrived at 8;30 AM the first day back from the 4th of July holiday. Allowed some time for kids to get their mind back on track. Started exercising at 9:00 AM with a slow paste to get kids back in the groove. Reviewed the techniques we already completed before holidays.
July 7,2015 Tuesday 8;30 AM ready to get back in full steam ahead. Completed exercising routines and proceeded to go on with badminton skills. Split girls up into 6 teams with three players on each team and let each player hit the birdie over the net to get a feel for the game.
July 8, 2015 Wednesday after exercising started right from where we left off Tuesday and got a little more game type situations. Finished the day with a little three on three scrimmages to see how things look.
July 9,2015 Thursday did a quick review of techniques and then went into exercising.After completion of exercising did a little three on three competition. The excitement of the competition was high so Friday should be a blast.
July 10,2015 Friday the time has arrived and the teams are all ready to go at it. The fire was in the place and the smack talking was at a all time high. Every game set point was at 5 and the winners move on and losers sit down. The day final match ended up going over because both teams wanted it bad. The final score was 11 to 9.
JULY 13-24,2015
July 13,2015 Monday started concentrating on the next skill which is slow pitch softball. We started the week off learning the rules of slow pitch softball. Spent the day going over the rules of the game.
July 14,2015 Tuesday morning started with our exercises and went out to the field for some instructions on the correct way to throw the ball from one base to the other one. Split the kids up into pairs of two and both kids took one knee about 5 feet apart. The kids did soft toss from each other for one hour and after every ten tosses one person back up about 4 feet.
July 15,2015 Wednesday started the day off with soft tosses from about 10 feet apart and watched their to see the correct form of throwing .Also did some long tosses and corrected their throwing form.
July 16,2015 Thursday morning completed exercises and headed to the field for some catching instructions. Worked on throwing and catching the whole period.
July 17,2015 Friday started the kids with a little hitting. Showing the kids the correct technique for hitting the ball .After a couple of hours of hitting started putting all three skills together on the field.
July 20,2015 Monday started the day off with a quick review of all the skills on the field and finished the day splitting the kids up on a team.
July 21,2015 Tuesday did our exercises and started placing the kids into a skill position on the field. After positioning the kids started some infield practicing with both teams.
July 22,2015 Wednesday worked on some more fielding the ball and game type situations.
July 23,2015 Thursday did some off the field review of the three skills with the kids and then headed to the field for a short scrimmage.
July 24,2015 Friday the big game day finally arrived where we could see what the kids learned these past few days on the field.The game was very intense and exciting because everybody wanted to win. I was excited just to see how the displayed what we had learned them all week long.
July 27,2015 Monday discussed the softball game from the previous week and started discussing the new sport and activity which is kickball. A very exciting game with lots of fun. Spent the day discussing the rules of the kickball game.
July 28,2015 Tuesday started the day off doing stretching exercises and went to the field for some learning skills for kickball.
July 29,2015 Wednesday morning stretching exercises and went to the field to start some routine kicks and go over the rules of the game of kickball.
July 30,2015 Thursday morning did stretching exercises and separated the kids into 4 teams for some kickball.
July 31,2015 Friday morning did some stretching exercises and started the kickball game. Played 2 5 inning games and the kids had a lot of fun and excitement.
